Good afternoon friends well first lets talk weather snow storm 2 weeks ago , then a ice storm , 70 degree days and a wind storm last night wow ! Crazy weather here in N.C .
Yesterday my friend Karen at this old house 2 wrote a great post about a one room school house . I love history mostly about houses and structures . I related to her post because Colfax had a one room school house and I learned it sat on our property . My wife got me a book a couple of years ago and that's when I learned where the school house was it floored me . I think of the Childern that played at recess in my back yard or the kids bringing in the wood for the Wood stove. I wish the structure was still standing I would love to redo it and have it on our land . The first picture shows you the school house the second picture is the back side of our lot from talking to different people the school was around where the two cedars sit now ! The one room school house was tore down and the school was relocated about a mile up the road where my oldest is now and my youngest will start next year !
Hope you all have a wonderful evening
Andy

THat is sooo neat, Andy. I wonder if there are any artifacts under the surface there where the school stood?

ReplyDeleteHow neat that you know this piece of history about your place, Andy. I find it fascinating. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing piece of history! How disappointing that it was tore down.
