As some of you know i love antique shops . I have several i like in the mountains and some at the beach but my favorite is in Southport i made a visit this weekend while we were at the beach house .
Its a old main street building right in the heart of town and just packed two stories of great antiques .
The old man that runs it is full of stories that i love to sit down and listen to . This is where i go when mama and the boys are at the other stores i just look around I often look at things and wonder who owned this and how and where did they use it
Well i hope you all have a great day
Andy
My husband loved antique shops and has purchased so much from them. Our house is a highset (two story) Queenslander (Australia).... an old style house which is built up to allow for breezes to circulate under it and keep us cool. Old things were built to last. When we came back to live in Australia from TN my hubby was amazed at the beauty of these old wooden homes. He did bring some special items back from the U.S. One is an old telephone that hangs on the wall with a crank handle and also a civil war replica flint lock rifle, its amazing. Happy New Year Andy.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a wonderful place to get lost it! Espcially because the man is willing to tell stories.
ReplyDeleteMy parents were really into antiques when I was a kid, so I went to many an antique store with them. It was kind of fun especially to pick through the junkier stores.
ReplyDeleteYou know that's one of my favorite kinds of "shopping" too... oh, the stories that old stuff could tell.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all Andy, great blog! Secondly, we have a lot of little antique shops in the small town where I live (Berea, KY). I love perusing them on a peaceful Sunday afternoon.
